Ballas Hough Band CD Review
Recently, One 2 One Network asked me to review the Ballas Hough Band Debut CD. Formerly known as "Almost Amy", the "Ballas Hough Band" (BHB), was formed in 2005 in London, England by Mark Ballas, Derek Hough, Sam Marder, Harry Sullivan and Emily Grace. They moved to the US in 2008 and were signed to a record deal with Hollywood Records. Two professional dancers from Dancing With the Stars, Mark Ballas and Derek Hough, are in the music industry as well! Who knew?! The Ballas Hough Band members have grown up together and know each other inside and out. They've been playing together for years.
The BHB wrote the majority of the album themselves. To that end, the Ballas Hough Band's debut puts a personal spin on pop music, with songs like “Fall” and "Devastated," which recount worldly lives that left a trail of broken hearts. They were using their imitating their life experiences through their music.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I like Pop Music, but sometimes liking a particular genre doesn't guarantee you'll like a specific artist; but I really enjoyed this CD and I think you will too!
The Song list:
Do You Love Me
Devastated
Closer
She Was The One
Longing For
Birthday
Fall
Do It For You
Break Through
Together Faraway
Underwater
